About Richard A. Loftus
Mr. Loftus has been practicing criminal law since 1975. He began his career as a prosecutor in the Cook County (Chicago) States Attorney’s Office. While working for the States Attorney Mr. Loftus was assigned to one of three “repeat offender” courts. These cases only handled what would now be known as Three Strike Case. He spent over two years handling only these serious matters.
He relocated to California and began practice in 1985. He has defended cases in both State and Federal courts since that time.
Mr. Loftus has also defended case in many other States, including, Missouri, Texas, Mississippi, Indiana, and Kentucky.
He was voted Trial Attorney of the year in 2005 by the Ventura County Criminal Bar Association.
Mr. Loftus is a member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, The Ventura County Criminal Bar Association and the California Public Defender’s Association.
Mr. Loftus believes that everyone is entitled to the most aggressive defense possible, and that is what he provides.
